Near Vita | Thanks for taking time to talk with us about Stranger’s Wrath. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do over at Just Add Water?

Stewart Gilray | I’m the CEO of Just Add Water (Developments) Ltd, and the Development Director at Oddworld Inhabitants.

Near Vita |  Stranger’s Wrath just hit on PSN for the Playstation 3. How will the PS Vita version compare to the PS3 version?

Stewart Gilray | We’re still working on the VITA version, but we’re making use of the touch screen and back panel.  It’s likely the finished game will run at 30fps and not 60, but we’ll see. There are a few other things we’re doing that I think people will like…

Near Vita |What was the hardest part (if any) of bringing Stranger’s Wrath from the PS3 to the PS Vita and at what point in development did you decide you wanted to make a Vita version?

Stewart Gilray | We actually spoke to Sony about it in Feb 2011, so it’s been on the cards for a year now. With regard to what’s been hardest, nothing really in the point of “How can we make this work” Just more a case of we know what tasks need doing, so let’s get on with them.

Near Vita |Will you be taking advantage of the touch screen or back touch panel?

Stewart Gilray | Yes we are taking advantage of it, for gameplay interactive, more so than the front panel, as we feel that using the front panel can get in the way of gameplay. We’re doing similar things with the Vita version of Munch’s Oddysee HD too.

Near Vita |Some games that are on both PS3 & Vita like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 have their own set of Trophies. Do you plan on having Stranger’s Wrath share the same trophy list or will they have their own?

Stewart Gilray | To be honest we’ve not decided yet, I’ve got to have a conversation with Sony about that, but we will be making that decision soon. I think I’d prefer a separate one, as we can add in some extra trophies over the PS3 edition, which are VITA Flavoured, if you know what I mean.

Near Vita |Will Stranger’s Wrath be a PSN Download or a Retail title?

Stewart Gilray | It will be an SEN Download only.

Near Vita |Munch’s Oddysee was announced for unknown platforms last year, any chance it will be coming to the PS Vita?

Stewart Gilray | Yes, we announced it actually for PS3/Vita and PC. With others to possibly be announced.

Near Vita | Do you have any plans for Gravity Crash coming to Vita?

Stewart Gilray | I’m afraid not, we are not the copyright owners of it, Sony are, and as such we have no real say in its future.

Near Vita | Anything else you want to tell us about Stranger’s Wrath or upcoming Just Add Water projects?

Stewart Gilray | Working as quickly as we can to get the game out as early as we can on the VITA. But as we’re a company that likes to get things right, that is taking a little longer than originally planned, but we’re getting there, and will be making a splash about it the closer we get to release.
